Growing food. Building connection. One family at a time
Our Vision
There are a lot of ways to spend a Saturday morning. But few of them end with your kids proudly carrying a basket of tomatoes they grew themselves into a kitchen that smells like something good is about to happen.
That’s the Simply Grown vision — a family gathered around a garden, connected to their food, to the season, and to each other. No phones. No rushing. Just the quiet satisfaction of growing something real. not here to follow trends—we're here to build something timeless. With a blend of creativity, strategy, and heart, we help ideas come to life.
About Lisa
Hi, I’m Lisa — founder of Simply Grown and your garden coach and designer.
My love of gardening started quietly, and without a grand plan. When my kids were young, the garden became my place to slow down, pay attention, and teach my kids where food comes from. What started as a hobby became a passion, and eventually, a second career.
After completing the Horticulture Program at New York Botanical Garden, I co-founded Norwalk Grows, a School Garden Partnership bringing hands-on food education to students across Norwalk, CT — giving kids their first taste of where food comes from. That work grew into a partnership with FoodCorps and the launch of the CT Farm to School Institute in 2022, expanding farm-to-school programs across Connecticut.
Through all of it, one thing never changed: when people get their hands in the soil and grow something they can eat, something shifts. They feel capable, Connected. Proud.
Now, with my own kids grown, I’m bringing that same spirit into home gardens across Fairfield County — because growing your own food isn’t complicated, it’s joyful. And that Saturday morning you've been picturing? It's closer than you think.
