The Consultation
Your garden, your goals — and a plan to get there
Your vegetable garden should fit your life — the “ebb and flow” of your home, your cooking habits, how much time you actually have for the garden, and the joy you want to get from it. Whether you’re just starting out or ready to take an existing garden to the next level, the Consultation is where we begin.
In our 90-minute session, I’ll come to your property, walk your space with you, and get to know your goals, your challenges, and your hopes for your garden. We’ll talk about what’s working, what isn’t, and more importantly, what’s possible!
Within a few days of our session, you'll receive your personalized Simply Grown Garden Roadmap:
A written summary of our conversation and my recommendations for the growing season
A curated list of edible garden suggestions tailored to your family's tastes and Fairfield County's growing season
Seed company recommendations and local sources for transplants
A monthly garden task list to guide you through the season with confidence
Layout suggestions to help you visualize possibilities for your space (full planting plans available as an add-on through Kitchen Garden Design)

Garden Coaching
Become the gardener you want to be
After your Consultation, ongoing coaching sessions give you hands-on, one-on-one support throughout the growing season. We'll work together at whatever pace makes sense for you (monthly check-ins or seasonal visits at key planting windows are most common).
Garden coaching is valuable at any level as my coaching goal is to build your confidence — no matter where you are on your vegetable garden journey. A garden coach isn't a source for generic advice — I will work alongside you, showing you and helping you understand why. From planting and pruning to organic pest control and succession planting, every session is tailored to your family's goals and the specific needs of your garden - in aligment with your Simply Grown Garden Roadmap.
Each 60-minute Coaching session is tailored to where you are right now:
Answering your most pressing questions
Building your skills and confidence in the garden, particularly through seasonal weather and environmental challenges
Troubleshooting challenges as they come up
Hands-on guidance — seed starting, planting techniques, transplanting, pruning, organic pest control, and more
Keeping your garden on track from first frost to last harvest, with the goal of maximize your garden’s harvest potential
Investment: $150 per 60 minute session
Or go all in with the Full Season Coaching Package — 4 sessions for $450 (a $150 savings — one session on us.)
Kitchen Garden Design
A garden built for your space and the way you actually live
You know you want a vegetable garden. You just want it done right — beautifully designed, thoughtfully planted, and set up to thrive from the start. Kitchen Garden Design takes your vision and turns it into a detailed, personalized plan you can bring to life with confidence.
Following your Consultation, we’ll move into the design phase — translating everything we learned about your space, sunlight, soil, and lifestyle into a garden that’s as functional as it is beautiful.
You’ll receive:
A detailed planting plan tailored to your family’s tastes and Fairfield County’s growing season
A layout and bed design drawing so you can see exactly how your garden will come together
A plant sourcing list so you know exactly what to get and where to find it
Referrals to trusted installation partners if you’d prefer to hand off the garden build to a carpenter or landscape company.
Whether you install it yourself or work with one of our partners, you’ll have everything you need to bring your kitchen garden to life.
